Save the Date! March 26, 2026
7:00pm at The Bayside Performing Arts Center, San Mateo, CA
Three years ago, Borel Drama staged the original production: Jinx The Musical. Written by Borel alumni Makena and Teagan Reynolds with friend JT Kaufman, orchestrated by Rick Reynolds, and directed by Borel Drama teacher Alyssa Goldrath, Jinx became a powerful story with a magical message that resonated with the cast and audience.

Recognizing the magic unfolding behind the scenes, Borel alumni parents Wendy Sims and Jeanne Barrett knew this project needed to be captured on film. With creative collaboration from Vin Eiamvuthikorn and David Feldman, this documentary follows the journey of creating an original musical— from initial idea to casting, rehearsals, and performances.
Be the first to see this heartfelt story chronicling the creative team behind Jinx The Musical, the Borel Middle School performers who brought the show to life, and the power of theater to inspire people.

Save The Date! March 26th at 7pm, Bayside Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be available soon at www.BorelDrama.com
Love & Hope & Magic: The Making of Jinx, the Musical
A Documentary
SimBarGo Productions is the creative venture of Jeanne Barrett, Alyssa Goldrath and Wendy Sims. After much deliberation on a unique name for their production company, SimBarGo was born! (We’ll let you decipher the meaning behind the name!)

Jeanne, Alyssa and Wendy gathered together to document the joys and jeopardies of creating a new musical. The blend of Alyssa’s directing talents, Wendy’s expertise behind the camera and Jeanne’s television production experience has created a well-balanced team, along with their love for musical theater. We will take you behind the scenes as sisters Makena and Teagan Reynolds, along with their friend JT Kaufman, bring to life Jinx, the Musical for Borel Drama Dream Theatre!
