Borel Drama Safety Updates

We are so excited to welcome the Borel Drama community back to the theater! We look forward to finally sharing 13, a high-energy pop rock musical about the trials and tribulations of being 13 years old, with you (two years later and with a new cast!). What makes Borel Drama so special is the incredible family on and off the stage that come together to experience the magic of theater. We hope you will join us March 4-6 at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center.

We wanted to share Health and Safety Measures with you.Throughout the rehearsal process, students have been singing, dancing and acting with masks. All staff are vaccinated, boosted and COVID test regularly. Cast and crew members are signed up for weekly pool testing on campus or provide regular negative COVID tests. All parent volunteers have shown proof of vaccination. Those volunteering during tech week and performances will be required to provide a negative COVID test. A priority for us this year has been performing at the beautiful San Mateo Performing Arts Center so that we have plenty of space on stage, back stage, and in the audience. All audience members are required to wear masks while indoors. We encourage everyone to be vaccinated, however proof of vaccination is not required to attend the show.

The Side Front Orchestra seats in the theater have a buffer row blocked off every other row for patrons who prefer to remain a bit more distanced. Our ticketing website encourages patrons to select seats away from reserved seats to help keep distance between unrelated audience members. A COVID-19 social contract is included in every confirmation email after a ticket has been purchased.

COVID-19 Social Contract: I acknowledge that I am aware of certain risks of participating in public events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that I am choosing to enter the venue my tickets are purchased for. I understand that by leaving my home, I am exposing myself to a greater risk of becoming infected with coronavirus, or of infecting other people. In order to do my part to not spread this virus, I agree to not enter the venue and to return home if (a) I have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above, (b) the venue's medically trained professional determines that I may not safely enter the venue, or (c) there is reason to believe I carry the coronavirus despite the current absence of symptoms. If I enter the venue, I agree to strictly follow all health and safety rules the venue has posted, which are designed to protect patrons, workers, and performers.

We look forward to seeing you March 4-6 at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center!

Thank you,

Alyssa Goldrath
