Audition Information

Audition sign ups are now open! Auditions begin Oct. 11th.

We are excited to be the first company to ever produce the musical, Jinx! We have commissioned Borel Drama alumni Makena & Teagan Reynolds along with JT Kaufman to write this musical for us. There is no video online anywhere of the show since we will be the first people performing it. To help learn the show, please review the synopsis, character descriptions and listen to the demo tracks here on our website. Take time to review this information with your parent/guardian. Participating in the musical is a big commitment. Please note, not everyone who auditions will be cast in the show.

  • A parent/guardian is required to attend this meeting with the cast member. We will discuss the show, review the rehearsal schedule and parent volunteer committees, and answer questions.

  • We ask families that are able to make a donation for $250 to register for the program. Cost includes program instruction, copy of the script and score, headshot, show t-shirt, main costume materials and use. Donations can be made online after casting or via checks that we will collect at the meeting.

Rehearsal Information:

Rehearsals will generally be scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 3:00pm - 8:30pm. We will also have some Saturday rehearsals between 10:00 - 4:00. Typically students attend 1-2 rehearsals a week that are about one to three hours long. A bigger role will require more rehearsal. Rehearsals will start the week of October 24th and run thru March 6th. Please list all conflicts and potential conflicts between October 24th through March 6th (include sports you are planning to try out for). No conflicts will be allowed during tech week and performances (February 25 - March 6). A full rehearsal schedule will be available after casting and will be created based on staff availability and cast conflicts.

Documentary Filming:

A documentary crew will be capturing the rehearsal and performance process. The footage will be used to create a documentary film depicting the making of Jinx, the musical. In order to participate in the cast or crew, students will need to have Media Consent authorization through SMFCSD (located in the Aeries portal) and sign an additional media release waiver at the Mandatory Parent/Cast Meeting.
